Description
A common problem on the PS3 Console is when there is a breakdown of solder connections between the GPU and PS3 motherboard.
We fix this fault by heating the chip and motherboard up with a BGA rework station making the solder joints good once more.
The symptoms of this Playstation 3 fault can be the power light on the front going straight from green to red on start up of the console or a brief yellow flash before the console switches itself off – hence the name “yellow light of death.”
