A customer brought an iPad iPad Pro 12.9″ 3rd Gen A1876 into us with a charging issue. It was noted after a brief inspection the type c charging cable was not fitting in as snugly as would be expected so it was time to remove the screen for further inspection. The screens on the bigger iPad can be quite hard to get off in one piece and the last thing we want to do is break the screen as they don’t come cheap.
After slowly removing the screen we took the type c charging socket flex out to reveal the problem, as you can see in the image the connecter was badly damaged, we replaced the internal flex cable and after a thorough test the iPad Pro 12.9″ 3rd Gen was reassembled, screen glued back on and after a quick clean was ready to return to our customer.
