An HP Envy 360 came into the workshop with screen issues, when the screen was moved the screen would flicker off leading us to suspect either the screen or screen cable causing the issue.

After carefully stripping the machine down we removed the screen cable and after inspection under a microscope could see where the cable had been misrouted during manufacture causing it to rub on and expose the metal on one of the wires. Easy, all we had to do was buy a replacement, well maybe not quite as easy as we thought seeing as there isn’t a spare part available for this model at this current time. We had to be a little creative and insulate the damaged wire and after some micro surgery under the microscope managed to get a satisfactory result.

The whole machine was then reassembled and as you can see in the video the screen issue has now gone.
