Nintendo Switch Power Socket Replacement

The Nintendo switch uses the notoriously hard to replace C type usb socket, the designers in their wisdom decided to have half of the connecting pins hidden under the socket making it impossible to solder with conventional soldering irons. We have spent many hours learning how to use a hot air rework station for this repair, first we remove the Nintendo Switch broken socket with a heat profile to take the socket off without damaging the board. The board is then cleaned and fresh solder reapplied, we then heat the board progressively until the solder is molten, the replacement socket is then placed on the circuit board and with heat still applied for the correct amount of time the socket is resoldered on the board, the machine reassembled and we have a working handheld switch once more.
